Croeso i Blwyddyn 6!
My classroom door opens at 8:50am every morning and school begins at 8:55am. If children arrive after 8:55am, they will need to enter the school through the office and they will be marked as late.
We have PE lessons every Friday afternoon; children should wearing school PE kit and trainers on this day.
Homework is given out on a Friday and is due in the following Thursday. All children's homework should go in their homework book. Each week, the children are expected to:
- read three times every week (and record it in their reading record)
- complete a few maths questions
- learn 10 spellings (spelling tests are every Friday)
Children should bring their reading book, home school reading record, a healthy snack and a bottle of water to school every day. They are more than welcome to bring a pencil case too.
Curriculum this term (Autumn 2)
Topic - bridges (mainly taught through DT)
English - character story and a non-chronological report
Maths - number skills (mainly multiplication and division)
Science - states of matter
Welsh - fi (me)
PSHE - citizenship
PE - health, fitness and wellbeing
ICT - communication
This term, we are reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. If you have a copy of this book at home, you are welcome to bring it in to class to read along. This will have a positive impact on their expression when reading aloud, help their understanding of punctuation and widen their vocabulary.
