Welcome to our class page!

Mornings

Our classroom doors open at 8.50 am every morning.  We are continuing to stagger entry times due to COVID 19 regulations.  The door is locked at 9.10. If your child is late please report to the office .

Useful information

Bags - Please pack a snack, water bottle and packed lunch only in a small bag.

Drinks - Children need access to water throughout the day.  Please can they bring a labelled water bottle filled with water only!

Snack-During the morning session, children have a healthy snack break. Snack can include fruit, raw vegetables, yoghurt, cheese or crackers. These also need to be clearly labelled. Please note - the local authority have banned grapes for health and safety reasons - grapes must not be sent to school.  Milk will be provided.

Packed lunches - Please ensure that your child is able to open and unpack the food in their lunch boxes.  If they have difficulty with this please could you use lunch boxes with compartments and empty the food into these.  Your children will also need to bring their own rubbish home in their lunch boxes.

Clothing - Please ensure that coats, jumpers, cardigans and shoes are all labelled clearly. This is particularly important as the children will be responsible for their own items of clothing.

Medication - All medication needs to be labelled and in date. We will not be able to administer medication such as Calpol.  Medication such as asthma pumps will be stored safely in class.

PE- P.E. is on Monday. Please make sure your child wears appropriate clothes to exercise in to school on this day.

Homework

Each week your child will receive handwriting, spelling, sounds and maths homework focussing on the work they have covered in class. This will be sent via Seesaw on Fridays and needs to be completed by the following Thursday.  We would love to see how your child did with their homework.  Please sent photos or videos to us via Seesaw.

Reading - Reading books will be given out on Mondays. Please bring books in on a Friday to be changed over the weekend.

If you have been sent a word sheet, please help your child sound out these words in readiness for their next book.

Use the Oxford Owl website to listen to your child read.  The level your child is working at has been sent to you via Seesaw.

Contacting the class teacher - It is vital that you ensure you are connected to your child’s Seesaw account as all communication will be via Seesaw. Please allow us three working days to reply to your message as we will not be able to do this during the school day.

Outdoor

Please ensure your child wears suitable, weather appropriate clothing everyday.  We try to get outside as much as we can at break time, lunch time and to visit our Forest School.
