Welcome to our class page!
Our classroom doors open at 8.50 am every morning and school starts at 8.55 am. If a child is late please go to the office .
Children need access to water throughout the day. Please can they bring a labelled water bottle filled with water only !
During the morning session, children have a healthy snack break. Snack can include fruit, raw vegetables, yoghurt, cheese or crackers. Please note - the local authority have banned grapes for health and safety reasons - grapes must not be sent to school.
Please check your child's reading bag for letters or notes home!
P.E. is on Thursday. Please make sure your child brings shorts and a T shirt on a Thursday. We encourage independence by asking children to try to change without help - so please practise this at home!
We will listen to your child read a minimum of once a week. Please send your child's reading bag to school everyday. To support us in improving your child's reading and understanding of the text, please listen to your child read at least once a week at home and discuss what has been read. (See the documents below for the types of questions to ask). Be sure to sign your child's reading log. Only then can we change your child's book.
Twynyrodyn have introduced sound keyrings to the children. The keyrings have letter sounds that your children need to learn to read. Once they can read the sounds on their keyring, send them back to school! We will then add the next three sounds or words.
Each week your child will receive a handwriting and maths sheet focussing on the work they have been doing in school. It will be given out on Friday and needs to be returned by Thursday.
Outdoor learning is an everyday occurrence in Foundation Phase. Your child will need to wear suitable, weather appropriate clothing everyday.
