Health and Safety

We aim to ensure that the children and the site are safe and secure at all times. There is only one exit and entry point to the school, which remains locked during the school day. Visitors need to use an intercom to gain access. The site is also covered by CCTV 24 hours a day.

We work closely with the Local Authority on matters of health and safety and this forms a regular part of staff meetings. Risk assessments are undertaken where necessary and all educational visits must be approved through Evolve. Any matters arising should be immediately reported to the Headteacher.

At the current time, it would not be safe to allow parental traffic on the school site, so the gates are automatically locked at drop off and collection times to ensure the safety of the children.

No dogs, with the exception of guide dogs, are allowed on the school site and there is also a strict no smoking policy in place.

As the site is quite large, parents must ensure pupils are closely supervised and leave the school site immediately after collection. Pupils are not allowed to access any of the play equipment without staff supervision.
