At Twynyrodyn Community School, we believe it is important for pupils to take ownership of their learning and have greater roles in school decision-making. We provide opportunities for children to play a role in making the decisions that affect them. We recognise that pupils have perspectives and opinions on issues that matter in the classroom, in the school and in the community. We give pupils an active role in influencing decisions about these issues as well as in the implementation of these decisions. |

ECO ACTION PLAN 2019-20
Chair and Vice chair Emily and Alisha have been working hard on our school ECO action plan after taking ideas from our Eco committee. The children will be sharing this with the governors at the end of October.

Great news- we came 3rd out of 14 schools in the recycling Christmas card competition. Here we are receiving our certificate and prize.
Got a suggestion?
If you have any Eco suggestions you can jot them down on a piece of scrap paper and post them in our wooden Eco suggestions box found in the school entrance area. Alternatively you can speak to your class Eco member.

What is Eco schools?
The Eco-Schools Programme encourages pupils to engage with sustainable development and global citizenship issues.
Pupils take key roles in decision-making and participation in order to reduce the environmental impact of the school. In this way, Eco-Schools extends learning beyond the classroom and develops responsible attitudes both at home and in the wider community.
One element of the Eco-Schools Programme is the establishment of an Eco-Committee – the driving force of the project. This is made up of pupils, staff, governors and parents who encourage the involvement of all members of the school community. The Eco-School committee process provides a useful model for effective communication and decision-making.
