Our topic for Summer 2016 is WRIGGLE AND CRAWL.

This project has a science focus and we will be learning about minibeasts and their habitats.

We have the Zoo Lab coming into school on Monday 18th April, where we will have the opportunity to see minibeasts, and even hold them!

On Tuesday 5th July we will be visiting Bristol Zoo to have a close up encounter with the minibeasts.

It's going to be a very enjoyable term. Mrs Cairns, Mrs Bennett, and Mrs Jones are really looking forward to it!!

The topic last term was 'Carnival'.  The children looked at the Circus and we have been reading stories and thinking about the different animals we might see at the Circus and what performers might be there. Our role play was the Circus with dress up, circus tricks and an area for them to buy and sell tickets which will give them further opportunity to engage with the topic.

We were really excited  to have the opportunity to meet performers and learn appropriate circus tricks with our visiting experts!

We looked at the Rio Festival and compared it with the eisteddfod in Wales before half term.

Within our 'Big Write' sessions we followed an explorer across the Antarctic and this linked into our Maths as we sorted what he would need to take with him on his journey and go on our own explorations for numbers during activities.
