All Year 6 pupils are encouraged to read a range of genres to develop their reading ability. At Twynyrodyn Community School, we regularly provide opportunities for pupils to experience reading a variety of texts through books, newspapers, magazines (both English and Welsh) and texts using the class I pads etc.
Each class will take part in weekly group Guided Reading sessions and develop their comprehension skills using Blooms Taxonomy and a range of resources such as First News, to develop their knowledge and understanding of reading and responding to texts.
Each child will also have an individual levelled reading book which they should read at home ( at least three times per week ) and change on a regular basis.
